Recruitment hosts live admissions sessions

When the Coronavirus pandemic moved college operations online, the office of Recruitment decided to hold virtual information sessions to make the admissions process a convenient way for incoming students to stay informed and engaged.

The sessions were promoted on the College’s social media sites with links to join via Microsoft Teams. Through collaboration with the offices of Enrollment and Financial Aid, a variety of topics were presented, including Meet the Recruiters, Live with Southwest Student Ambassadors, New Student Orientation and Advising, and Live with Enrollment Specialist Kelia Searcy.

Although there is no substitute for talking to students in person and on campus, the new virtual admissions campaign has been well received. Several area high schools have participated and attendance is increasing – some sessions had 50 or more students.
