Financial Aid for Transfer Students

Step 1: Apply for admission to Southwest Tennessee Community College. If you haven’t done so, apply now at http://www.southwest.tn.edu/documents/admissions/checklists/firsttime.htm
Step 2: Create a Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID): Both student and parent must apply for a Federal Student Aid ID, which is used to electronically sign the FAFSA. Apply at https://studentaid.ed.gov/sa/fafsa/filling-out/fsaid.
Step 3: Complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) online. Southwest Tennessee Community College’s School Code is: 010439. You will need your Federal Student Aid ID (FSA ID) for this process. Submit the FAFSA early to qualify for as much financial aid as possible.
Step 4: Submit any additional documentation requested by the Office of Financial Aid within two (2) weeks of notification.
Step 5: Check your award status at the my.southwest student portal.
Step 6: Request an "Official" copy of all previously attended college transcripts be sent to:

Step 7: Apply for scholarships. Many scholarships awarded to Southwest students have separate processes, deadlines, eligibility criteria, and application forms.
