Welcome home Saluqis! As you prepare to embark on a new journey, orientation ensures you are equipped to walk the path towards student success. This is your first step.

You are just beginning an exciting and enriching future. At orientation, you will have the opportunity to meet new friends and student leaders, learn about the wealth of student support services we offer, meet your professional academic advisor (PAA), and register for classes. You will not have to do this alone. We are here to help you navigate this process every step of the way. So, let’s get started.

Complete financial aid requirements

  • Complete the FAFSA
  • Check the ‘Student Dashboard’ located on the My.Southwest student portal and submit all required documentation listed under the Financial Aid section. Important Reminder: If you are selected for verification and a 2016 Tax Return is required, it must come directly from the IRS. You can request a Tax Return Transcript or Non-Filer statement here at www.irs.gov.
  • TN Reconnect Scholarship is available for those who qualify.

Create your student account (My.Southwest Student Portal)

Complete Saluqi Knowledge (pre-orientation session)

Below are steps for completing Saluqi Knowledge (pre-orientation session).

If you do not know your username and password, click here. You will need to enter your Southwest Student ID number which can be found on your acceptance letter.

  • Under the New Student Orientation page header, click the drop-down arrow beside “Select Course,” and select “New Student Orientation.”
  • Click on the “Getting Started” video for instructions to begin the course.

After completing Saluqi Knowledge, you will be able to register for On-Campus Orientation. Below are steps for signing up for on-campus session. 

  • Log-in to your My.Southwest student portal.
  • Select “Student Advising.”
  • Select “YOUR CAMPUS”; Select “New Student Orientation”.
  • Choose a date and time; then enter your Southwest Student ID Number; Click “Save.”
  • Congratulations! You have scheduled your appointment.

While we encourage all incoming students to register for on-campus New Student Orientation (NSO), we realize some will not be able to attend in person. That is why we also offer online NSO. If you are interested in completing online NSO, complete Saluqi Knowledge and the option to move forward to Online Orientation will be provided.

On-Campus Orientation Dates

We offer on-campus orientation sessions to fit your schedule with various times, dates and locations. Some dates offer a morning and an afternoon session. When you register for on-campus orientation, you will only need to register for one (1) session.

Note: If you have not submitted your documents prior to registering for an on-campus orientation session, bring them with you.
