Career Services

Are you having a hard time choosing a career and major? Many students find it helpful to take the free Career Coach Assessment.  It’s mobile friendly, takes 5 minutes to complete, and helps you find careers that match your interests and strengths.  Career Services is available to meet with you online to explain your assessment results, listen to your career goals, and answer any questions you might have.

To schedule an online appointment with Career Services, you canfollow the steps below to use the new Navigate application:
From a desktop PC, tablet, or laptop, go to: https://swtn.navigate.eab.com.From a mobile device you will need to download the free app: Android link or Apple link. Once you are logged in, select “Career Services” as the care unit and follow the prompts to schedule your appointment for a day and time that works best for you.  You can also email us at: careerservices@southwest.tn.edu.

Need a laptop?

Don’t have a computer? It’s OK, but act today!  Full time and part-time students are eligible to borrow devices for the semester. Applying for a laptop is easy. You can do it from your mobile phone! Southwest degree-seeking students who are REGISTERED for classes are eligible to borrow a device.

Once you register for classes, the LAPTOP LOAN PROGRAM icon will appear in your My.Southwest portal dashboard. Click the icon, fill out the form completely and choose your pickup location.

Students picking up devices must go through the campus access protocol. Fill out the online health assessment before arriving to campus. Your body temperature scan will be scanned before access is granted.  Face coverings are required. You will not exit your vehicle during pick up.

Devices will be loaned out on a first-come, first served basis. Preference will be given to full-time students who have completed a financial aid packet.

If there are more eligible applicants than laptops available, students not awarded a laptop will be placed on a waiting list and may receive a laptop should machines become available later in the semester.
